So Visual Studio Express Edition is pretty fantastic. I am pretty worried that I am in to deep with the point and click aspect. I haven't migrated all of the abilities yet. In fact, I have really only gotten the template redesign done and the page content working. My next goals are to update the newsroom and faq.

I am assuming that will go pretty fast. Maintaining two sites seems to be what I have to do for the moment. We shall see how this works. After I update the site I will try and provided my thoughts here.

  1. Too much point and click for me. I am very used to coding it all by hand. The HTML creation and controls are fantastic, but I am worried I am missing something.
  2. Layout is still a bear. A designer I am not.
  3. The CSS is nicer
  4. It honestly seems to load a bit faster.

Most of the books I got are neat and good for getting a grip on it. The books I am favoring are from the Microsoft Press. I prefer having the paper in my hand, but I have found myself going to the web for more specific examples. It is just that this code doesn't really feel enterprise. I want to develop my library of code like I have in ASP 3.0, but clearly the object oriented nature of the language will require me thinking about things totally differently
